FIFO and LIFO

Definition

FIFO (first in, first out) and LIFO (last in, first out) are ways of deciding which purchase cost is matched to the inventory you sell.

When fuel prices rise, FIFO usually shows a higher profit than LIFO, and when they fall the reverse is true. Which method you may use for tax is a question for your CPA.
