Capital expenditure (CapEx)

Definition

CapEx is money spent on assets that last for years, such as new dispensers, tanks, canopies or store equipment.

These costs are generally recorded as assets and depreciated, while ordinary repairs are expensed. The line between the two matters for both profit and tax, so confirm it with your accountant.
