Modisoft Login and Back Office App: Which One Is Which

People search for Modisoft login, POS login, net login and the back office app as if they were one thing. This page explains which sign-in belongs to which part of Modisoft, what each one shows, and what to save for your books. We do not provide logins, so access problems go to Modisoft or your reseller.

Quick answer

Which Modisoft login do I use, and is there an app?

Use the back office sign-in to see reports, and the point-of-sale sign-in at the register. Modisoft lists a free Back Office app for iPhone and a POS app for iPad. We do not provide logins, so access problems go to Modisoft or your reseller.

One company, more than one sign-in

Modisoft is a cloud-based system for convenience stores and gas stations, and its own materials describe a web version plus apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. Searches such as "Modisoft login", "POS login", "net login" and "admin login" all point at different doors into the same system. This page is a plain-language guide, not a help desk. Names, apps and features depend on your plan, so confirm yours with Modisoft. We are not part of Modisoft.

The back office sign-in

This is the one an owner uses to look at the business. Modisoft describes its Insights back office as a way to monitor the business remotely, see customised reports and manage several locations in one dashboard. There is a free Back Office app for iPhone. If you only check sales from your phone, this is the sign-in to learn first.

The POS sign-in

This is the cashier and manager side at the register. Modisoft also lists a point-of-sale app for iPad and for tablets and smartphones. A cashier code at the till is not the same thing as the owner login to the back office. Mixing them up is why a manager can ring sales but cannot open reports.

Admin and staff accounts

The admin account decides who else can see what. It should sit with the owner or a named manager, not with an employee who might leave. If searches such as "admin login" bring you here, this is the reason it matters. Give staff only the access their job needs, and review the list now and then.

When a sign-in stops working

The usual causes are opening the wrong one of the sign-ins above, an expired password, or an account set up under a former manager's email. Modisoft or your reseller can fix the account. We cannot. Before you call, note which screen you tried and the exact message, which saves time on the phone.

What to save once you are in

A figure on a screen is not a record. Export or save the monthly reports each month, because those files are what your books are built from. If the system changes or a login is lost later, a saved file still proves what the month looked like. Keep them somewhere the owner controls.

How to use this page

To see what each sign-in gives you, go to the sign-in guide. To see how access goes wrong in practice, go to where it goes wrong. If you want a team to handle the books from what you save, what we do covers it.

What we do about access

1

Ask who holds the keys

We note who owns the admin account and who else has a login, so access does not depend on one person.

2

Work from exports

We use saved monthly reports, not screens or screenshots.

3

Suggest a limited user

If we need to look something up, you can add us as a read-only user. We never need your own password.

4

Close the month

The exports are matched to the bank and posted to QuickBooks Online.

Where Modisoft access goes wrong

Only one person can log in

The manager who set it up has left and nobody else has the admin account.

The wrong sign-in

You look for fuel reports at the register login, or tills at the back office login.

A shared password

Everyone uses the same login, so nobody can say who changed a number.

Screens, not files

Totals are read on a phone and never saved.

A former employee still has access

Nobody removed them when they left.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

It depends on what you need. Use the back office sign-in to see reports, and the POS sign-in at the register. Modisoft or your reseller set these up, so ask them if you are unsure which one you have.

People use that name for the web sign-in. Confirm the right address and account with Modisoft or your reseller rather than guessing, because a wrong site is a risk to your password.
Common causes are the wrong sign-in, an expired password or an account under someone who has left. Modisoft or your reseller can fix it, and we cannot.
We cannot see Modisoft's service status. If the screen will not load, ask Modisoft or your reseller, and use your last saved reports in the meantime.

We do not need to. We work from the reports you export, or from a read-only user you create. We never ask for your own password.

Real US-based contractors. Same team, same operational discipline that we now bring to gas stations. Construction is a different vertical - but the muscle (multi-stream books, cost reconciliation, niche specialization) is the same one stations need.

"They didn't just record transactions and call it a day. They built a custom chart of accounts around how a remodeling company actually runs, did a full catch-up on years of bookkeeping inside QuickBooks Online, and now stay on top of my monthly bookkeeping and payroll."

Founder, Moonz Contracting

"Sahil and his team have been handling the bookkeeping and job costing for my painting business. They've done a great job cleaning up my books, using integrations to give me accurate, timely job costing and solid weekly data. Reliable, and the team is very detailed."

"They rebuilt the whole thing from the ground up, with real job costing, WIP, and retainage."

"They set the accounts up properly first, then cleaned up everything I never entered."

Rolian Rolian
Owner, Overtime Electric

"When I came to them I had no financial structure in place at all. No job costing, no WIP tracking, books were behind, no real way to tell if any job was actually making money. They came in, did a full cleanup, and set up job costing and WIP tracking inside QuickBooks."
